|
The History of Haynes Scaffold starts with a painting contractor by the name of W. T. Haynes. Starting his business as a painter and artist in the early nineteen hundreds, and helping to build a young Palm Beach County. Painting always had hard to reach areas, However scaffold was generally built out of wood, and using ladders was useful, but just didn't reach all the areas efficiently.Mr. Haynes was looking for his son Eugene to work with him in the painting business. As his son became apprentice painter he learned how hard it was to reach those areas. At that time Scaffold dealers where non existence in palm beach county. Overtime Mr. Haynes became very successful in his business, and his son was able to run the family business, and not only understood the needs of painters, but learned all of the contractors needs. W T Haynes was at a PDCA painting convention at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, a Scaffold Manufacture who was an exhibitor at the same show explained how metal scaffold would be a way to reach just about anywhere, easer, safer. He was very excited to add the scaffold to his business.

After buying the first load of scaffold Mr. Haynes was looking forward to show his new found equipment to his son,Eugene Haynes. They both agreed that the scaffold would be a viable asset to there painting customers, and becoming a scaffold dealer for the Palm Beach County would grow into something grate. The Scaffold business grew fast because there was a need for a scaffold dealer in a local area, but was always a sideline of the painting business. Overtime Eugene explained to his father that we need to increase the scaffold side of the business, and separate the scaffold company from the painting company.

Eugene had made a promise to his father he could make this scaffold company grow. Starting with one truck and one driver, and the best salesmen he could find (himself). He set out to make the Haynes Scaffold company a helpful tool for Palm Beach County Contractors. Eugene worked long hard hours renting scaffold, and scaffold accessories, that made it easy for contractors reach those areas that where once hard to reach, reachable. This was tough long work he would have to be a salesmen, wielder, secretary's, and accounts reciveable. Like his father he was strong willed and up for the challenge. Eugene was runnig out of room at in this location and needed to find a larger location. and in 1960 moved the scaffold operation to it's current location of 1210 Ortega road, West Palm Beach.
