Rental Accessories - Additional Support Equipment
You’ve heard of all the common scaffold parts; frames, braces, planks, you name it. But we’ve never highlighted the small accessories that can be added onto scaffolding that can help in different ways. Some of those things are coupling pins, tie-in pipes, outriggers and casters. These items provide additional support or access that may not be achieved with the simple pieces of a scaffold.
Let’s look a little deeper into these accessories.
Coupling Pin
A small metal tube fitted for scaffold frame legs used to align and connect the frames vertically. These tubes come a variety of sizes, all for different tube diameters. The ones we provide will fit into the frame we provide as well.
Casters
A wheel that has a swivel joint and a coupling pin attachment to go into the base of a scaffold. Made for indoor and outdoor, these can be used to creating a rolling tower as well as into the ends of outriggers to create a more stability rolling platform.
Outriggers
Metal attachments which make the base of a scaffold wider, typically used to provide stability to supported scaffolds who exceed the 4:1 Base Ratio. These allow a scaffold to go above that height-to-base ratio because it offers kickout protection as long as you follow the proper guidelines. Can be used with casters and screwjacks.
Each of the accessories are major add-ons for any scaffold unit. They provide stability, new forms of access, and versatility among products. The world of scaffolding is ever changing. New methods and equipment are being implemented every year. You can see these products in our rental section here.
