Frame of mind: Which Frame is the Right Choice?

One of, if not the, biggest and most widely known types of scaffolding is Frame Scaffolding. It’s the most common and easiest to use of all the different scaffold systems. When getting frame and brace scaffolding, it’s important to think about which frame you’ll need to get your job done right. There are a few different types of frames that we provide; those being Standard, Ladder and Walk-Through Frames. Each of these styles serve different purposes for type of work that is being done on or with the scaffolding.

Standard Frame

The most common and widely used and a great choice for most types of construction. Typical work done with these frames are masonry and stucco work. Best used in straight runs along the existing structure. These are combined with braces, jacks and sill pads. However, they need a form of access to safely get on and off the scaffold.

Ladder Frame

Another great choice for most work types. These frames have a built-in ladder that provides access. Most of the work done with this type of frame is specifically access or platform work. These are also combined with braces, jacks and sill pads.

Walk-Through Frame

Not as common but still a great choice. Made for when the area that has the scaffold still needs to be accessible. Workers and materials are still able to move freely around the site. These are usually long, horizontal straight runs of stacked frames for multiple trades to work on. These are, as well, combined with braces, jacks, and sill pads.

With frame and brace, there are countless ways to get the job done the way it’s supposed to be done. Every job site is unique though, it’s hard to say one type of scaffold works best for every single work trade. But the great part is scaffolding is versatile; there are so many configurations and choices that you’re bound to find the right fit for what you need.
