Getting it Done Right - an Installation story

When it comes to scaffolding, we’ve done a thing or two that you can say have been out of our expertise. One of things we found was Shrink Wrapping. Now don’t think of your normal shrink wrapping, like around leftovers from Thanksgiving. More like huge structures of freestanding scaffolding that gets covered in a weather-proof material. That material is then heat-shrunk to form fit around the scaffolding, creating a workspace that’s sealed from the outside environment. Once we learned this new skill of shrink wrapping the scaffolding, a new avenue opened up for our installations.

Earlier this year, a local contractor reached out about a situation where they needed a way to get the job done without worrying about the environmental factors that come with working in South Florida, especially near the beach. One of our project managers, Brice, had the idea of using the shrink wrapping we had recently learned to help this customer out. “I remember when they called in and was asking if it was a possible thing for us to get done for them. I knew it was the best choice and offered to them a full scaffold wrap plus shrink wrapping.” Brice told us. “It was a hard job to figure but I was happy to get it done for them.” Using the shrink wrap,  Brice coordinated a layout of system scaffolding around the preexisting structure that allowed space at the top for a make shift roof to be made out of the shrink wrap material. With this extra space, the contractor was able to continue doing their work without fear of the wind or rain coming in and ruining their progress.

It’s moments like these that show that investing in your business’s skills can payoff substantially. Not only did we learn a new skill, but the contractor was more than satisfied with the end results. Looking into new avenues and ways to improve our building skill is something we know can be benefit to everyone involved. This is just one of many new skills we’ve developed here at Haynes Scaffolding.
